SongShare is a service that allows you to share what you're listening to with others. You can use the site to quickly and easily find a song and share it via Facebook or Twitter. Your friends will be able to view and preview the songs you share, as well as rate and comment on them. In addition, you can use our free iPhone App to share songs or playlists that you're listening to on your iPhone or iPod touch.

Using SongShare is simple. First, log in with either Facebook or Twitter. Then, search for a song using the search box at the top of the site. A list of results is returned, allowing you to preview them to make sure you are sharing the correct song. Once you find the song you want, click the button for that song. If you desire, add a message to accompany your share, then click 'Share'. That's it! Your Facebook or Twitter status will be updated with a link to your share.

In addition, you can re-share any song that you see on SongShare. Simply click the button and add a message, and you can share that song for yourself.

SongShare has been designed to integrate with your Facebook and/or Twitter accounts. You do not need to create a separate login to use SongShare. Simply click either the Facebook or Twitter login buttons at the top of the site and log in with your social network of choice.

Currently the only way to share a playlist is using our free iPhone App. We are working on adding the ability to share a playlist from the site and hope to add this feature soon.

Occasionally songs will be shared from our iPhone app which we are unable to find an exact match for in our database. When this happens you will not be able to re-share that song. However, if you try searching for the song using our site search you may be able to find the song and share it using that method.

SongShare uses the iTunes music database and the ID3 tags (title / artist / album) embedded in your music in order to match the songs you share to songs in the iTunes database and provide album art, previews, etc. If you share a song that is not available on iTunes (for example, a custom remix you downloaded from a web site) we will not be able to match the song. Or, if the ID3 tags for your song are incorrect or misspelled, it is likely we won't be able to match the song. In these cases we will list the title, artist, and album for the song but will not be able to provide album art or a preview. If you would like to avoid this problem, please make sure your ID3 tags are correct, or use our web site to search for and share the song.
